This weekend Fishers hosted a semi-final of the US Firefighter Challenge. The kids were so excited to see the firefighters and to be able to participate in the kids obstacle course. Luckily the weather cooperated and it was cloudy, only humid (instead of SUPER humid) and in the low 80s (instead of the upper 90s). It's all about perspective!
Poor Beckett - he wanted to do the course so badly...we had to wait in line for about an hour and he just kept peeking over the barrier.
Beckett and I in line. He dressed up this morning in his Halloween costume and wore it the whole time we waited.
Silly Grant.
I couldn't get him to smile nicely.
We made it to the front! Grant is geared up and ready to go!
Beckett's turn has finally arrived. Throughout the line he told me he didn't want any help on the course - he wanted to do it all himself! In fact, "Mom, you can't even come in there with me." Yes Beckett, I know. :-)
Free face painting too! Greatest day ever! Beckett LOVED this. He checked himself out every chance he got...the bathroom mirror, the mirror in a flood light, the mirrors in Target...he made me back up the cart to accomplish that one. Did I mention that he LOVED his face paint. He threw a huge fit tonight when he had to wash it off in the shower.
Here is the video of the kids in the obstacle course. The kids didn't go together - Grant is up first and then Beckett.
