More Swim Photos

Here are a few more pics from swim meets....up at 5am. Checked in at 6:15. First swim at 7:30. It's crazy and we are having a great time!

Beckett and Sam lining up for their relay

Grant in the queue line for his race

This was actually taken at practice. Grant practices from 10-11 and Beckett from 11-12. So while he isn't in practice, the boys can play on the iPad, but they have to read beforehand.
Beckett wanted to read to Grant on this day.

Beckett waiting for his first race. The numbers on their arms help tell the volunteers what his next race it. For example - Beckett's first race was number 13. He was in heat 3, lane 1.
Oh yes, I am fluent in swim now. :-)

Swim meets are organized chaos. Here is a picture of the tent area. Each tent is broken down my age and gender. This is a picture of the 7-8 girls tent (I was sitting right next to the guy in burgundy.

And this is a picture of the pool area. Again, lots of people - organized chaos.

Beckett and more of his swim buddies

Another example of the organization required - these are the ready benches. There are about 4-5 benches and the kids sit in order of their lanes and move up with each race completed.

This was taken by the team photographer. Beckett wasnt feeling very well and I think this picture shows that perfectly. We weren't the subject of the picture but I still love it.

Picking Up Daddy

To get back and forth to work, Roger is riding the train...it's about an hour or so each way. Not his favorite thing to do, but at least he's able to get into the office a few days a week.

The boys like to go up to the station to meet the train. Not a great picture - I was trying to be sneaky and take it from the car...so I wouldn't spoil the moment.

Bring On Summer!

For the last day of school, our group of friends went all out...complete with a gigantic water slide, ice cream sundaes, and a BBQ. It was quite the party!

Pure joy! And if you notice, my boys are the only ones that didn't want to wait to put on their bathing suits. :-)

Water slide + Water gun = awesome day!

The crazy crew

Here is a video of the kids on the slide...they had a great time

First vs. Last Day

I always like to look at how much the boys grow over the course of the school year.

FIRST DAY OF KINDER

LAST DAY OF KINDER

FIRST DAY OF 1ST GRADE

LAST DAY OF 1st GRADE

UGH. They are getting so big and grown up. :-(

WE LOVE OUR TEACHERS. Mrs Schneider for both boys in Kinder and now we are crossing fingers we get Mrs. Paulsen again.

Beckett is 6!!

I can't believe my baby is 6....ugh. He is a kind hearted, loving, goofball and we couldn't love him more. So proud of all his has done and can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Macie, Cap and I brought the boys Sonic for lunch...they really do have the best onion rings. :-)

After swim we went to QDoba for dinner and then Baskin Robbins for dessert. This ice cream monstrosity was his choice...I still don't know how they finished!

Only 3 bites in and it's already all over his face. He really is one of the messiest eaters I know

On Wednesday, June 3rd we had Beckett's friend party at a place called Gattiland. It's pizza buffet with an arcade and bumper cars - a 6 year old dream!

Look at my tired boys. Did I tell you that they got up at 2AM to play with Beckett's new toys. Cap got up 2 times to put them back to bed. I heard them at 445 and put them back to bed and they finally slept till 630 when they had to go to school. I still don't know how they were conscious for the entire time....

As you can see in this picture - Beckett was pumped and ready for his party.

 Grant and his BFF Jud

I love this pic and these boys.

Roger's Surgery

Back in February, while Beckett was on crutches, Roger came home from a neighborhood basketball game with a severely swollen ankle. About a month later, he finally went in for x-rays - no broken bones - so he just figured it was sprained.

In April he went on a trip to San Francisco. The trip required a lot of walking and he called me one night and said that he was in agony and it had to be more than just a sprain. So he finally went in to get it seriously looked at.

After an MRI, they discovered that he had broken off a 5cm piece of cartilage and torn 2-3 tendons....he needed surgery.

So here we are, with another member of the family on crutches. He has the crutches for 4 weeks and then will be in a walking boot for 4-6 weeks.

I completely underestimated how painful this was going to be.....and how disruptive to our everyday schedule.

Living the dream - cruising WalMart in one of the power scooters.....you know you want to! BEEEP....BEEEEP...BEEEEP!

UGH. I wasn't sure I would make it through the appointment - I am very squeemish....

Swim Pics

Here are some various swim photos from our swim meets...

All the kids bring electronics to the meets to help pass the time...my boys think I am a horrible mom because I won't let them bring anything. :-)

Beckett ready to go

Tightening goggles before diving in...

Waiting for his relay to start....looking oh so cool and confident

Watching the 3rd leg of his relay

Here is a video of Beckett's races. The first is a relay. Then he swims freestyle and finally backstroke.

Here is video of Grant. There are 5 races total. The first is a relay. The next 3 are individual. Then the last is another relay.
