Happy Easter!

Here are a few pictures from our Easter celebrations today. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Then both the boys desperately needed a haircut. I was going to try cutting it but they both just wanted it short. :-(  I miss Beckett's curls.

Soccer Again

Soccer has started once again for the Simmons family. Unfortunately we had to withdraw Beckett. During his first practice, he rolled his ankle on the ball. We just want him to fully heal so decided to wait on sports for now. We are signing both the boys up for swim team this summer.

Grant LOVES soccer. He plays every day at recess and any chance he gets while at home. We found out this weekend that in the fall he is eligible to play on the Georgetown Force Academy. This is a much more in depth, structured team that will play teams all over Austin. He's super excited about it. Guess we will see if that excitement is still around in the fall!

Green Anaconda

Grant is in a class called Quest. It is the gifted program for our school district. As a part of this class, Grant had to complete a research project on a "Super Sized" animal...Grant chose the green anaconda. A few facts about this amazing snake:
1 - can be up to 25-30 feet and weight up to 500 pounds
2 - the babies are born alive. In one birth a mother can have 20-40 babies, each measuring 2 feet!!
3 - they eat their prey whole, sometimes digesting up to 6 months. Caymens, cabyburas and fish are favorites.

Yes, that was all off the top of my head...we practiced a lot. :-)

Here is a video of his presentation. It's shortened a lot...the total length was 12 minutes, so I couldn't include it all. This is the main part though.

 We went for a ride around the neighborhood and Grant got tired of his roller skates. So he jumped on the back of Beckett's crazy bike for the trip home. Somehow they also balanced one of his skates too.

BIG NEWS

Macie and Cap finally found a dog! This is Murphy. He is a 4 year old goldendoodle that was up for adoption from a family in our area. He's the sweetest thing...basically Riley but with black and grey fur. I can't wait for the 2 of them to meet...will be very entertaining. :-)

Spring Break 2015

We went down to my parents house for a quick visit over spring break.

 Grant wanted to create a ship...so we gave him popscicle sticks and tape and off he went. :-)

 There was ONE day that allowed us to head outside for a prolonged period of time. Grant and Cap went to play tennis and Beckett and I hit the pool.

 We went out to dinner for Cap's birthday. The kids decided to goof around with Macie for a few pictures. 

Character Parade

On the Friday before Spring Break, the boys elementary school had a book character parade. This year they were able to choose a Dr. Suess character or any other character.

Beckett really wanted to dress up as a knight, so we found a knight book by Mercer Meyer.

Grant wanted to be Harry Potter. He was worried that with blonde hair he looked more like Malfoy, but I think he looks just like him. :-)

Beckett walking with his teacher in the parade. He still had his boot on his left foot.  The combination of a helmet that slid forward and a boot that was too long for his foot, made for a very interesting march around the school.

Here is a video of the boys in the parade. I crack up everytime I see Beckett walking....he really was a hot mess in that boot.

Homework Time

The other day Beckett decided he didn't my help with his homework; he wanted Grant to help him. It was the greatest 20 minutes ever. I loved seeing big brother helping little brother...filled my heart.
