5 Is Going To Miss Me

The day finally arrived - Grant is 6 years old! I am pretty sure he has been counting down since Beckett's birthday.

We started the day off at a great park in Round Rock. It's huge with lots of fields, playing fields, playgrounds and a pretty lake. It was a bit chilly, but the sun was such a nice change from all the rain we have been getting lately no one was complaining.

Beckett was very tired (still getting up around 4:30 am these days) so he was very cuddly with Macie...I don't think she minded one bit. :-)

Let the presents begin. We decided to do presents before dinner so the kids would have time to play with everything before they headed to bed.

Beckett is trying to be patient. :-)

WALKIE TALKIES! So very excited. I am so sorry Bubby - they don't work very well. :-(

As Roger left for work on Friday, he said to Grant - enjoy your last day being 5! Grant's response - "Yea, I think 5 is gonna miss me." So, we just had to make this little sign for him. Such a goofball!

 LEGO time!

Grant's cake. When he and I were talking about cupcakes for his friend party, he was all excited about sight word cupcakes. Well, I vetoed that and so we had a sight word birthday cake instead. His word of choice? Is. :-)

The sight words were written on the side.

I couldn't get him to give me a non-cheesy smile.
BTW - school pictures were this week. After his examples of his smile and pose...well, I am a bit afraid to see what we get. :-)

Here is a video of the present extravaganza. As well as a little remote control craziness. Thanks Grandma and Papa! They are a BIG hit!

Rain Won't Stop Us!

Today we had Grant's friend party....and we are in the middle of a week of rain.

Now, in Texas we are not used to rain. It's always sunny here - afterall we are in the middle of a 4 year draught! I knew that my boys would be up for it, but I was worried about the others. I am happy to report that everyone embraced it and danced in the rain. :-)

After an epic fail at some M&M cookie bars, we ended up with this giant cookie from the grocery store. Grant was over the moon excited about it - they even wrote his name on it! WOO-HOO!

This is Grant's good friend Leo. He's a constant playmate at recesstime. :-)

Beckett ready for the pinata!

Pizza for everyone!

Lots and lots of fun to be had on this spinny thing. :-)

Beckett and Leo taking a stroll with an umbrella.

There's the almost birthday boy!

More fun on the spinny thing!

As you can see, Grant thoroughly enjoyed the giant cookie.

Grant and another good friend - Jud

This is Max. He and Grant are work center buddies.

The only girl in attendance - Alexis. She's just adorable and she and Grant are super cute with each other. Always very excited to see each other.

Pinata Time!

Everyone gathering their goodies...and hiding from the rain.

Let the presents begin!

I love Luke's face in this one (he's right over Grant's shoulder.) :-)

Great buds - Grant, AJ and Carter

Now that's a soggy, good looking group!
Back row - Leo, Beckett, AJ, Jud, Alexis
Front row - Grant, Justin, Carter, Max and Luke

We're already wet, why not hit the giant puddle on the way to the car? GO JUD!

Beckett on his way back to the car. Thoroughly drenched and so very happy.

A Few Random Things

Here are some random videos and pictures from the last couple of weeks.

We have been busy busy with school and allergies. Man oh man - Austin is jam packed with allergens. All of us are on a steady regimen of Allegra. Maybe we should look into stock in the company!

HOME DEPOT SURPRISE!

We have started going to Home Depot and Lowes to participate in their free clinics for kids. This time I took them and we were surprised to find a festival of sorts. Not only was there space for the building workshop, there were also snow cones, bounce houses and a mini firetruck train! WOO-HOO!!

KING OF THE DAY!
Grant came bounding out of school the other day with this crown on his head. Apparently he was King of the Day. I asked him - WOW! What did you get to do? Oh, nothing special. Apparently everyone in the class just draws a picture for him and it's put into a book. :-)

THE EMPIRE IS HERE!

Found these awesome costumes on a new Facebook garage sale site. The kids absolutely love them and I am shocked at how great they are. Especially the Darth Vadar one. It's amazing - body suit, belt, awesome cape, gloves and mask! Halloween here comes Vadar!
